LCSC Summer Camp
More than 200 Livonia City Soccer Club players of all ages swarmed the Dickinson soccer complex earlier this month for the annual pre-season Club Camp.
Players were greeted by warm, sunny skies on each of the five days of camp. Sessions were held from 6-9 p.m. and held under the direction of LCSC Director of Coaching Rick Larson, Club Director Jeff Bobo, and Youth Director Dan Mellors.
Campers learned new skills and scrimmaged under the watchful eyes of more than a dozen coaches and instructors, from both inside and outside the LCSC family. A new wrinkle at this year’s camp was the presence of the Madonna University women’s soccer team, which trained alongside the LCSC players and participated in scrimmages with the older LCSC girls. New LCSC coaching staff member Jen Barker recently was named the new head coach for the Madonna squad.
The club camp provided a great opportunity for players to demonstrate their soccer skills and for coaches to evaluate their players heading into the fall season. Plans already are underway to make next year’s camp even bigger and better.
